Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has named his travelling squad for the club's pre-season tour of Australia and Asia, with three Nigerian defenders among the 27 players selected.
Centre-backs Tosin Adarabioyo and Tayo Subuloye, along with versatile left-back Landon Emenalo, will depart London for Sydney today.
While Tosin is a first-team player, Subuloye and Emenalo have earned promotions to the senior squad after impressing the Spanish tactician during the opening weeks of pre-season.
The two academy palyers have been included in the travelling party to bolster the squad, with several first-team stars yet to report for pre-season after representing their countries in the latter stages of the 2026 Fifa World Cup.
Among those still absent are defenders Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah and Malo Gusto.
Subuloye enjoyed an outstanding 2025–26 campaign, captaining Chelsea's U18 side to the U18 Premier League national title and earning the club's Scholar of the Year award.
\Emenalo also featured in the final against Manchester City U18s, showcasing his versatility by operating in midfield.
Chelsea will face Western Sydney Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus, AC Milan and Johor Darul Ta'zim during their tour of Australia and Asia.
