On Friday morning, LeBron James put to rest what was one of the biggest storylines remaining in the NBA Free Agency period: where was he going to go to next? Despite rumors of going back to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat, two teams that he had taken to the promised land in year's passed, he opted for a new location: the Philadelphia 76ers.
James put to ink a two-year $8 million deal with the Sixers, rounding out their free agency period with quite the exclamation point.
When the news was announced, James put out a series of posts on social media explaining his thought process in the decision, and among those posts, he put out his thoughts regarding his intentions with the Sixers.
LeBron wants to win it all in Philadelphia
Given that the 22-time All-Star is still in the midst of a stellar window of production, averaging 20.9 points and 7.2 assists in his last season with the Los Angeles Lakers, James is still capable of aiding the team. But he hopes to bring something different to Philadelphia, something that hasn't been there in 43 years, the Larry O'Brien trophy.
another championship.
I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time.
Thank you LA. Miami Iβll forever love and Northeast Ohio will always home!

Given that James will be joined alongside former champion Jaylen Brown, as well as the likes of Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, and Joel Embiid, there's a heavy chance that the Sixers could do it all in the upcoming season. But for now, only time will tell.
