LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - One of the greatest NBA players of all-time is on the move yet again, but this time, he’s taking his talents to Philadelphia.
On Friday, LeBron James announced he intends to sign a two-year, $8 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. The second year of the deal reportedly includes a player option.
James now joins a star-studded Sixers lineup that includes seven-time NBA All Star Joel Embiid, 2026 All-NBA Third Team honoree Tyrese Maxey and 2024 Finals MVP Jaylen Brown.
James’ announcement comes more than three weeks after the start of NBA Free Agency. His decision reportedly came down to Philadelphia, the Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In his announcement post on X, James called this his “last decision” and said his choice primarily came down to “winning another championship.”
