Now that LeBron James has made his decision, one question facing the Philadelphia 76ers is whether they will now try to acquire Bronny James.
Two years ago, the Los Angeles Lakers drafted Bronny late in the second round, putting the father and son duo on the same team. They then made history by becoming the first father and son to play together in an NBA game.
With LeBron joining the 76ers so late in the offseason, most teams are pretty much set for their roster construction. However, it's possible that the 41-year-old would like to continue playing with his son, leading to a potential Bronny James trade.

Will 76ers trade for Bronny James?
While LeBron James moved on from Los Angeles this offseason, that may not necessarily be the case with Bronny. According to Dan Woike of The Athletic, the father and son are not tied together moving forward, so the Lakers may opt to keep Bronny instead of trading him.
Bronny took a small step forward last season and still offers the Lakers cheap depth at the back of the team's bench. Additionally, the 76ers' roster is already pretty full, so trading for Bronny would require an additional step.

By signing LeBron James to a veteran minimum contract, the 76ers are now slightly over the first apron and must waive a player to get back under. Therefore, if Philadelphia does want to acquire Bronny, it will likely need to trade a player to the Lakers to match Bronny's salary.

Bronny James contract
Bronny James is currently playing on a four-year, $7.9 million deal with Los Angeles, with a team option for the fourth year. The Lakers will have James on their roster for just under $2.3 million next season, then have to decide whether to pick up his $2.5 million team option in 2027-28.
The contract itself is cheap and would be easy to trade if the Lakers do decide to go that route. However, it also gives the Lakers flexibility knowing they have a young player on a cheap deal for the next two seasons.

Since Bronny James has found minimal success early in his NBA career, any trade for him would be minor in nature and likely not cost much. The Sixers would probably offer either a future second-round pick or a back-of-the-roster player in exchange for James.
