LeBron James joins Michael Jordan in Philadelphia

Jul 24, 2026, 4:52 PM UTC

What was first just a dream has become a frightening reality for those who may oppose the City of Brotherly Love.

Philadelphia now has both Michael Jordan AND LeBron James.

Wow!

The Eagles signed MJ, a free agent journeyman offensive guard with the same name as the greatest player in NBA history, back in June.

And now the Sixers are adding the second-best player (or so) in basketball history to their roster. It’s hard to believe it’s real but James is coming to Philly. Our good friends over at Liberty Ballers have full coverage of the big news.

I realize that not all BGN readers are also Sixers fans but this is clearly a huge development for Philly and the NBA writ large. We already have multiple entries in The Feed about this topic:

Wild times! And funny that two of the biggest names in the NBA GOAT debate, one of them being the actual player, are now in the same sports city.

Guessing we’ll see LeBron attending some Eagles games this season. And a larger Eagles presence at some Sixers games.
