Liverpool should be worried about Bayern interest in £127m superstar

**Liverpool are reportedly desperate to sign Bradley Barcola but the lack of concrete developments in their interest in the PSG star has fans worried.**

It’s been nearly a month since the Yan Diomande transfer chase collapsed and despite Liverpool reportedly pivoting to Barcola immediately, nothing has changed.

Of course, he only recently left the World Cup after France’s 6-4 defeat to England in the third-place play-off, but Liverpool play their first pre-season game of the summer tomorrow at midnight.

The clock is ticking on the 1 September transfer deadline. While there is more than enough time remaining, the closer it gets to the start of the Premier League season, the more panicky selling clubs will get and the more difficult it will be to get these deals across the line.

Marc Guehi serves as Liverpool’s cautionary tale.

Bayern Munich are one of the clubs with a close eye on PSG’s Bradley Barcola

Reporting for [CF Bayern Insider](https://cfbayerninsider.com/2026/07/the-bayern-insider-michael-olise-wants-real-madrid-as-bradley-barcola-transfer-hijack-stance-clear/), Christian Falk reports that Bayern Munich have Barcola on their shortlist which should come as a warning shot to Liverpool.

_“It is true: Bradley Barcola is one of the names on the shortlist at Bayern Munich if they have to replace Michael Olise,”_ Falk reports.

_“I reported last summer that there was an idea to sign the France international anyway. Even the summer before, the 23-year-old was considered a very interesting player for FC Bayern._

_“He’s on the shortlist, but at the moment there is no chance of getting this player for the club. That’s because PSG want to give the winger a new contract, and amounts in the region of €150m have been floated if the Ligue 1 champions were to sell the player._

_“However, when you look at the situation – and, as we say, Bayern don’t want to sell Olise this summer – the club has to think about the Frenchman’s situation if he doesn’t sign a contract with Bayern.”_

Liverpool need to sign Barcola while other clubs are distracted

---------------------------------------------------------------

Liverpool desperately need an elite winger to replace the talismanic effect Salah had on the Reds, but if they wait too long, Barcola will no longer be so _easily_ signed.

I say ‘easily’ loosely here. The £127m PSG are demanding for his transfer would hardly qualify this as an easy transfer to complete, but while the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City are looking elsewhere at other squad needs, the Merseysiders have a rare chance to snap Barcola up unopposed.

He might not be a right winger, but he does what Salah did when he first signed for Liverpool – just on the opposite flank.

Football has changed drastically in the last nine years since the Reds paid £34m to sign Mohamed Salah from AS Roma, but unless Liverpool’s fabled recruitment team feels they are onto the next Salah, Barcola is a guarantee of attacking quality that they cannot afford to pass up on.
