LeBron James and Mike Conley will make the same salary in the 2026-27 NBA season.
The Boston Celtics will have Conley on their roster as a down-the-depth-chart veteran point guard.
The Philadelphia 76ers, as of Friday, will have James in their starting lineup.
Yeah, it's a bit of a lopsided outcome for the Celtics, who maybe were on the fringes of the James discussions early but never really seemed to be in the picture.
It does emphasize, first and foremost, that the King really wasn't concerned about his salary for the season ahead. He joined the team he wanted to be with the most.

Mike Conley salary vs. LeBron James
Conley and James will both play on a veteran minimum contract in 2026-27.
That comes with a salary of $3.9 million for the season.
The one added benefit of the vet minimum for teams is that it actually only counts as $2.4 million against the salary cap, but the full $3.9 million gets paid out to the player.
Regardless, it's a pittance for James, but that's kind of the point.
All along, James was considering teams that wouldn't have much money to pay him. That's usually how it works with the best teams in the NBA.
The Miami Heat could've given James $7 million for the season, but that was about the high-water mark among contenders for his services.
It's just ironic that the Celtics snagged Conley nice and early in free agency, then after a few weeks, LeBron decides that's the same salary he wants to join one of Boston's biggest rivals.
