**David Moyes has paid tribute to outgoing Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye.**
Gueye turned down the chance to extend his stay at Hill Dickinson Stadium to call time on a combined seven season spell in the blue half of Merseyside.
The Senegal international originally joined from Aston Villa in 2016 before sealing a return in 2022 after a three-year spell at Paris Saint-Germain.
His performances in 236 appearances for the Blues saw him become a fan favourite in addition to winning the club’s Player of the Season for 2024/25.
But despite holding talks over a new deal after his existing contract expired at the end of the previous campaign, Gueye will continue his career elsewhere.

“His leadership qualities in and around the dressing room proved crucial, particularly in our final season at Goodison.
“His commitment to the club over many years was exceptional.
“Everyone connected to Everton thanks Gana – he will always be welcome at the club – and we wish him and his family all the very best for the future.”
