The Philadelphia 76ers landed LeBron James through a coordinated recruitment effort from executives and players. Experts suggest the team will balance its new superteam by resting James and Joel Embiid on back-to-backs, ensuring the veterans remain fresh while allowing the team's younger stars more opportunities.
LeBron James' signing with the Philadelphia 76ers has sparked questions regarding the team's new starting lineup.
Although every starter – Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Jaylen Brown, James, and Joel Embiid – is exceptionally talented, each thrives most when the ball is in their hands.
NBA reporter Evan Sidery offers a solution to make sure everyone is satisfied with their role:
"Due to how talented the Sixers’ new starting lineup is, don’t be surprised to see LeBron James and Joel Embiid not play in back-to-backs.
When LeBron and Embiid sit out, it will allow the remaining trio of Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and VJ Edgecombe to increase their usage."
Considering Embiid missed 42 games last season and James sat for 22, a similar pattern next year could emerge. This would allow the team's other stars to shine while simultaneously preserving the veterans' health for a deep playoff push.

How Philadelphia got LeBron James
According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, the Sixers came at James from all angles, including executives and the players themselves.
76ers President of basketball operations Mike Gansey reportedly stayed in constant communication with LeBron's agent Rich Paul behind the scenes. Gansey shares a connection with the veteran forward, as they have competed against one another when playing in high school in Northeast Ohio.
While that was happening, three Philadelphia players - Maxey, Embiid and Brown reportedly talked with James directly. Their push was led by Maxey, who is a client of Klutch Sports Group alongside LeBron and has in the past referred to him as a "big brother".
