According to The Athletic's Joe Vardon, Golden State is expected to re-sign Green for approximately the same amount as the player option he declined last month - nearly $28 million.
Green turned down a $27.68 million option for the upcoming season in late June, becoming an unrestricted free agent. The decision gave the Warriors additional financial flexibility as they explored significant roster moves during the offseason.
Despite entering free agency, Green was always widely expected to discuss a new agreement that would allow him to continue his career with the only NBA organization he has represented.
Green set to continue historic Warriors tenure
Green appeared in 68 games last season, averaging 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in 27.5 minutes per contest. He shot 41.8% from the field and 32.6% from three-point range.
The 36-year-old has spent his entire 14-year NBA career with Golden State after the franchise selected him with the 35th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.
Alongside Stephen Curry, Green has been one of the central figures in the Warriors' dynasty, helping the organization win four NBA championships. His individual resume includes four All-Star selections, nine All-Defensive Team appearances, and the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year award.
Should the reported agreement be completed, Green will return for his 15th season with the Warriors and continue serving as the team's defensive leader alongside Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Kristaps Porzingis.
