La Liga giants Real Madrid have been joined by arch rivals Barcelona in the hunt for a leading member of the club’s summer transfer wishlist.
The player in question? Rodri.
Midfielder Rodri has of course seen his name dominate the headlines across all of Spain over the last 24 hours. This comes after a string of reliable sources confirmed that those in a position of power at Real Madrid have changed their tune on the potential signing of the 30-year-old.
Following his spectacular performance at this summer’s World Cup, Florentino Pérez and co. are ready to go all out to bring Rodri in with a view to next season.
As alluded to above, though, Los Blancos are not the only ones eager to bring the Ballon d’Or winner to La Liga this summer.
As revealed by market insider Fabrice Hawkins, ahead of the expiration of his Manchester City contract in 12 months’ time, Barcelona have also entered the race for Rodri.
Not only that, but European champions Paris Saint-Germain are keen, too.
It is Real Madrid who remain the frontrunners to strike a deal, though, with an agreement on the terms of a contract already in place with Rodri and his entourage.
