Bruno Guimaraes is once more at the heart of the latest transfer news involving Arsenal. The Newcastle captain looks close to a summer move, with the Gunners preparing a £70 million bid. Talks between the two clubs are said to be moving quickly this week, and progress looks real this time.
Bruno Guimaraes Deal Picks Up Pace
As reported by BBC Sport, a £70 million offer from Arsenal for Bruno Guimaraes is now on the table. The Brazil international remains a top target for Mikel Arteta, and reportedly favours the move. That desire gives the Gunners an edge heading into talks.
However, Newcastle are expected to reject that offer. As reported by Standard Sport, the Magpies want closer to £80 million. They are not willing to discuss a sale below that figure. Personal terms would not be a problem, since Bruno Guimaraes has already made his stance clear.
The Brazilian has yet to return for pre-season training, after a short break following Brazil’s World Cup exit. Newcastle also placed him front and centre in their new kit launch this week.

As reported by GIVEMESPORT, the north London club’s interest is not new. A verbal offer was turned down through intermediaries back in June. Newcastle showed no early intent to sell at that point. Since then, though, the player has made his desire to leave clear.
