How Real Madrid's Diomande pursuit impacts Liverpool

Real Madrid's move to sign highly rated youngster Yan Diomande could have implications could potentially affect Liverpool's transfer plans.

PSG's failure to land the 19-year-old could strengthen Luis Enrique's resolve to keep hold of Bradley Barcola amid continued interest from the Reds in the French winger.

The French champions has also shifted its focus towards Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche. Enrique's side is reportedly keen to strengthen their attacking options and are pushing ahead with an approach for the winger.

Luis Diaz lined up for shock exit

Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal wants to bring in the former Liverpool winger Luis Diaz.

After a strong season in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, where he starred in a forward line that also includes Harry Kane and Michael Olise, Diaz is one of the most exciting players on one of the top teams in Europe.

But Al Hilal now has Diaz at the top of its list this summer, according to Gianluigi Longari. The Saudi side previously explored the idea of trying to tempt Kane to join too, but that move proved fruitless.

Former Liverpool star gives verdict on Mohamed Salah replacement

Ex-Liverpool striker Emile Heskey believes Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia would be the perfect replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Per the Echo, via LiveFootballTickets, Heskey said, "The difficult part of saying who could replace Mo Salah, is I don't think anyone could replace Mo Salah.

"The only one I would say that we could probably go after is Kvaratskhelia from PSG, but he won't be available.

"I think when you're looking at talents and legends of that ilk, you have to just put that behind you and move on to something different. You will never find another Mo Salah putting up the numbers that he did. Never ever."

Vinicius Jr 'suggested' to Liverpool

Transfer journalist Ben Jacobs has reported Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior was "suggested" to Liverpool following the news that Arsenal is interested in landing the Brazilian forward.

On Saturday, it was reported by The Athletic Arsenal is exploring a deal to sign Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid. Since then, Jacobs has reported Liverpool were a team mooted as a potential landing spot for the Brazilian, only to go on to confirm the Reds would rather sign a right-winger rather than a left.

"Can also reveal, Vini Jr was suggested to #LFC as well from the player side, but no engagement or meaningful discussion from the club," wrote Jacobs on X. "Liverpool are instead focused on strengthening the right-wing."

Diomande hope for Liverpool?

German outlet Bild suggests there may still be some hope for Liverpool with Yan Diomande - although there could be even more competition for his signature now.

The Reds are still claimed to be vying for his signature, along with Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, while Arsenal and Manchester City are also said to be in the mix. Bild suggests that the winger's future is pointing towards a bidding war, with RB Leipzig demanding at least $137 million (€120M).

Although Diomande has agreed a contract until 2031 with PSG, his preferred club, no official offer has been made yet. The player's entourage is now said to be putting pressure on the European champions in order to avoid another club intercepting the deal.

Ferran Torres move ruled out

Ferran Torres has been linked with a move to Liverpool this week, although Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has cast doubt over the Reds' chances of signing the Barcelona forward.

He told Wettfreunde.net:

I don't think Liverpool can make an offer for Ferran Torres. I think only Paris Saint-Germain is a possibility, because if he decides not to extend his contract with Barcelona, it's because Luis Enrique wants him at Paris Saint-Germain, and the club is seen by both him and his advisors as the perfect career move. I believe only Paris Saint-Germain is in the running for him.

Bradley Barcola blow

Bayern Munich is eyeing up Bradley Barcola as an option should Michael Olise head to Real Madrid, according to CF Bayern Insider.

Yan Diomande twist

The future of Yan Diomande has taken yet another twist, with Real Madrid now in the running for his signature.

According to The Athletic, the Spanish giant is in club-to-club talks with RB Leipzig over a potential deal. PSG remains keen on Diomande, with the 19-year-old having chosen a move there over Liverpool already, but the European champions haven't been willing to meet Leipzig's asking price so far.

Were Real to land Diomande, that could have a knock-on effect for a number of other deals, and it might not be good news for Liverpool given its interest in Bradley Barcola.
