Real Madrid have reportedly reached an agreement with Yan Diomande, which could impact the future of Vinicius Jr. Arsenal have been credited with an interest in signing Vinicius during the summer transfer window as they look to strengthen the forward options in their squad.

Reports on Saturday claimed that Arsenal had added Vinicius to their shortlist of potential forward targets for this summer, with the Brazilian facing an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu.

And it seems that Madrid’s potential transfer business may also have a knock-on effect on Vinicius’ future in the Spanish capital.

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has claimed that RB Leipzig star Diomande has reached a verbal agreement to join Madrid if the two clubs were to agree on a fee.

Diomande is also reported to have reached a similar agreement with Paris Saint-Germain, who have been linked with signing the Ivory Coast international all summer.

The report claims that Real have agreed a contract that runs until at least 2031 with Diomande, with Leipzig continuing to demand more than €100million (£85million) to get a deal over the line.

The implications of Diomande’s potential move to Madrid could affect Vinicius’ future in the Spanish capital, which means Arsenal may be keeping tabs on the situation for any further developments.

Vinicius’ contract with Real runs until next summer, which has fuelled speculation that a departure may be on the cards this summer so the La Liga giants avoid losing their star forward as a free agent in 12 months’ time.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for the 26-year-old this summer and whether or not Arsenal’s interest becomes any more concrete.

A report in The Telegraph recently claimed, though, that new Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has made it clear to the club’s bosses that he wants Vinicius to remain at the club and would not be in favour of the winger completing a move to Arsenal.

Vinicius scored 22 goals for Madrid last season on their way to finishing second in La Liga and reaching the quarter-final of the Champions League, and was recently part of the Brazil squad that reached the quarter-final of the World Cup.
