Kentavious Caldwell-Pope officially joins 76ers, to earn a similar salary to LeBron James

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope previously exercised his $21.6 million player option for the 2026-27 NBA season.

He was notably dealt to the Memphis Grizzlies as part of the blockbuster trade that sent Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic last year.

Caldwell-Pope appeared in 51 regular-season games this past NBA season, averaging 8.4 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.5 rebounds. His campaign was cut short after he underwent surgery in February to correct a misalignment in his right pinkie finger, causing him to miss the final 31 games.

Widely regarded as one of the league's top 3-and-D wings, the veteran has been a key contributor to two NBA championship teams, helping the Los Angeles Lakers win the title in 2020 before playing an integral role in the Denver Nuggets' championship run in 2023.

Now, Caldwell-Pope will earn a salary similar to LeBron James' as the two reunite in Philadelphia, where they hope to strengthen the 76ers' championship aspirations.
