Transfer targets: Yan Diomande, Vinicius Jr, Bruno Guimaraes

Some big moves are in the offing as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham all work to bolster their respective squads ahead of the new Premier League season. Arsenal made a huge splash on Saturday as it was revealed they are interested in a move for Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr, who is entering the final 12 months of his contract and could look to leave the Bernabeau this summer.

They have also confirmed the signing of Christos Tzolis and are set to make a £70million bid for Bruno Guimaraes after agreeing personal terms with the Newcastle captain. Defenders Ezri Konsa, John Stones and Jacobo Ramon are of interest too, amid ongoing links to the likes of Julian Alvarez, Bradley Barcola and Marcus Rashford. Man United have been boosted in their pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni, with Real Madrid team-mate Eduardo Camavinga also on their midfield radar alongside Carlos Baleba, Manu Kone, Sander Berge, Danilo and Tyler Adams.

Chelsea want to land Kerim Alajbegovic and Alex Scott after welcoming Morgan Rogers, while Maxence Lacroix underwent a medical on Friday with a £52m switch from Crystal Palace agreed. Tottenham are eyeing Andreas Schjelderup and Rafael Leao as Cristian Romero prepares to exit, while Liverpool have moved for Maghnes Akliouche as they also target Barcola and Rayan. Arsenal have completed a deal to sign Axel Donczew from Cardiff City.

The highly-rated 16-year-old, the youngest first-team player in Cardiff’s history, has already completed his medical.

Confirmation of the midfielder’s move is expected this week.

De Zerbi reveals next Tottenham buys

Roberto De Zerbi has said Tottenham are not finished in the transfer window, despite an aggressive summer spending spree.

“Yes, the target now is to complete the attacking positions,” the Italian said at a news conference.

“We want the first target, the first level, because anyway we are already important players, but I think to start the new project we need another couple of important players, for sure.”

ICYMI: Howe reveals Guimaraes talks

Eddie Howe said he has had ‘really good conversations’ with Bruno Guimaraes this summer as he looks to convince the player to snub transfer interest from Arsenal to stay in Newcastle this summer.

“I’ve spoken to Bruno before, during and after the World Cup. We have had some really good conversations. He’s just a fantastic person,” said Howe.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen with his future, that’s for other people to speculate about. There’s conversations I’m not part of.”

Vinicius turns down Real contract offer

Vinicius Jr has turned down an eye-watering contract offer from Real Madrid amid interest from Arsenal.

The Gunners are hoping to capitalise on his uncertain situation as he enters the final year of his deal and struggles to agree terms on a new deal with Los Blancos.

Reports in Spain suggest he has turned down an offer worth as much as €20m (£17m) per year.

Asmir Begovic is back on the market after leaving Leicester.

The journeyman Bosnian reportedly has interest from across the EFL and Europe, having only made 12 appearances since joining the Foxes this time last year.

World Cup sensation Vozinha has chosen his next club.

Having previously plied his trade in the Portuguese second division with Chaves, the Cape Verdean shotstopper has reportedly reached an agreement to join Chilean outfit Colo-Colo.

“We can confirm Vozinha will be a Colo-Colo player,” said the club’s president.

“We have an agreement; the final details are being ironed out, but we already have confirmation from his entourage and his representative. We reached an agreement based on a proposal that we submitted.”

Joao Palhinha has committed himself to Bayern Munich.

The Portuguese spent last season on loan at Tottenham and has been linked with a number of clubs, but only has eyes for Bavaria.

He said: “My plan is to keep my position here at Bayern.”

He has been told, however, that he is not in the club’s plans.

Olise transfer latest

Bayern Munich have once again rebuffed interest in Michael Olise from Real Madrid.

Asked whether their interest was genuine, director Christoph Freund said: “Olise-Real Madrid? That's not a topic for us at all. He will play an important role for FC Bayern this season again.”

Rice contract latest

Arsenal may think twice about renewing Declan Rice’s contract if Vinicius Jr moves to north London.

The midfielder is in line for a pay rise, but with Vinicius on wages of £400,000 per week, the budget would be squeezed considerably.

The same goes for Mikel Arteta, who needs a new contract.

It was revealed on Saturday that the Real Madrid talisman was one of several names under consideration by Arsenal should they decide to sign another forward this summer.

The new Real Madrid boss Mourinho, though, is prepared to fight to keep Vinicius in the Spanish capital.
