James Tavernier is still assessing his options after bringing the curtain down on his lengthy Ibrox stint. The 34-year-old right-back racked up an astonishing 292 goal contributions during his 11 years in Govan where he captained the club, enjoyed Premiership glory and reached the Europa League final four years ago. He’s looking for his next move with Charlotte FC in the MLS one strong option.
There are Turkish suitors too but a late window move to the Premier League is not out the question. Tavernier came through the youth ranks at Newcastle United while Everton are reportedly on the hunt for a right-back this summer. “Tavernier also has admirers back in England. Sources have confirmed that several Premier League and Championship clubs have made contact to assess the possibility of bringing him in. The defender’s former club Newcastle United have explored the situation, while Everton and Aston Villa have also made enquiries, with all three viewing Tavernier as an experienced squad option capable of providing leadership and versatility.
