Liverpool have been handed a major boost to their hopes of signing Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola. The Reds have been heavily linked with signing the France international as they look to strengthen their wide forward options in their squad this summer.
Barcola has spent the summer with the France squad at the World Cup and played a key role in helping Les Bleus reach the semi-final before they lost to eventual champions Spain.
The 23-year-old’s future at PSG has been the subject of intense speculation this summer, with rumours that a departure from the back-to-back Champions League winners could be on the cards during the current window.
There has now been a fresh update about Barcola that may give Liverpool some encouragement that a deal could happen in the near future.
French news outlet L’Equipe have reported that Barcola has decided not to sign a new contract with PSG, following weeks of speculation that an extension with the Ligue 1 giants could be on the agenda.
Barcola’s current deal with PSG is currently set to expire in the summer of 2028, and the forward is now expected to be heavily linked with a move away from the French capital over the next few weeks.

The report claims that Barcola has turned down the chance to put pen to paper on fresh terms to remain at PSG, and now faces an uncertain future.
Liverpool are one of the clubs to be mentioned in the report that have expressed an interest in signing Barcola, but will face competition from Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
It has been a relatively quiet transfer window for Liverpool so far this summer, with Victor Munoz and Jeremy Jacquet the only new additions to the squad from last season.
Andoni Iraola & Co are currently in the United States for their pre-season tour and claimed a 4-2 win over Sunderland in Nashville in their first fixture of the campaign on Saturday night.
It now remains to be seen what Liverpool will do between now and the end of the summer transfer window on September 1, and whether or not Barcola will remain at PSG or join a new club.
