Yan Diomande## Real Madrid has agreed a deal to sign Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, with Liverpool having previously been interested, even though PSG was said to be his favored destination

Real Madrid and RB Leipzig have reportedly reached a verbal agreement for the transfer of Yan Diomande, a few weeks after Liverpool expressed a willingness to put together a package worth a total of €100 million ($115 million/£85 million).
PSG is also a major admirer of Diomande and Luis Enrique's side was thought to be the player's preferred option at one stage. But with nothing advancing on that front, Real Madrid has stepped in.
According to Ben Jacobs, the deal is now agreed. Leipzig had initially wanted to keep Diomande for another season, and was demanding around 30 per cent more than Liverpool had at that point been prepared to put on the table.
Diomande starred for the Ivory Coast at the World Cup after a brilliant year in the Bundesliga. He scored and assisted regularly after arriving from Leganes in 2025.
During the World Cup, he made clear that his future was to be determined when his country exited the tournament, but that was a couple of weeks ago.
Another team, Arsenal, is also said to have inquired about Diomande. The Gunners have also been linked with Vinicius Jr in the last couple of days.

Bradley Barcola, who PSG is said to value at as much as $193 million (£145 million), may have been more likely to be allowed to leave the Parc des Princes had Diomande gone there.
It remains to be seen what knock-on impacts a move to Real Madrid could have for the Ivorian, assuming that it goes through. Both Los Blancos and PSG have agreed personal terms with the 19-year-old.
"Diomande is a direct player — very raw — but has the ability to get to the byline," the former Reds striker Emile Heskey told Liverpool.com.

Liverpool.com says: Diomande should have picked a move to Anfield for the most obvious route to minutes, but Real Madrid and PSG obviously hold major appeal too. He looks to be heading for the top.
