Federico Chiesa has insisted that he is prepared to dismiss transfer speculation this summer as he strives to prove himself under Andoni Iraola at Liverpool.
The Italy international managed just two Premier League starts across two seasons under Arne Slot, appearing at Brighton in May 2025 — once the Reds' title triumph was already wrapped up — and then against Wolves the subsequent campaign on December 27.
The appointment of Iraola, though, could potentially pave the way for increased playing time ahead, and the Italian impressing in a substitute appearance in Saturday's 4-2 victory over Sunderland at GEODIS Park in Nashville.
The ex-Juventus attacker netted the Reds' third goal of the evening and contributed to the fourth with an intelligent pass for Dominik Szoboszlai to tee up Lewis Koumas, and speaking to journalists following the match, Chiesa confirmed he harbors no ambitions to depart Liverpool.
"Right now, at the moment, I am happy here," Chiesa told reporters, including from the Liverpool ECHO.
"I love the club, I love the fans, I love everything. I am doing the best I can to have a chance here. And then we will see.
"At the minute, the only thing I am thinking about is Liverpool. I don't know, it is difficult to say [if this is a fresh start]. It is always a fresh start at the beginning of the year."

Chiesa claimed that last season's limp fifth-place finish did not reflect the squad's true quality. He also felt that he could have played more of a part.
"Last year I felt ready for a bigger role, then it depended on the coach whether he wanted me to play or not," Chiesa explained. "Of course I wanted to play more but it is what it is.
"The gaffer decided, he had his game plans, he took his decisions, I have nothing to say about that.
"It is football. This year, let us say it is a new chapter. There is a new manager and I have to focus on that. He put me striker today and he wants me there. The only conversations I've had [with Iraola] were about pressing and tactics."

Chiesa is hopeful that this season can bring more success at Anfield.
"Liverpool deserves more," he said. "Two years ago, we were Premier League champions. Last year, we almost went out of the Champions League spots.

"We were battling for fifth, which was enough at the time but as we know usually only four go in. We were lucky.
"It was a tough season last year and this season we need to do better, in the Champions League as well. We went out to PSG, we want to go further in the competition and then we want to even better in the Premier League as well."
Liverpool.com says: Chiesa hasn't got the pace to play every minute for the Reds, but he can be a useful squad option when he is fit. Right now, Liverpool doesn't have enough options to consider letting him leave anyway.
