Journalist shares new update on Arsenal's pursuit of star dubbed 'a phenomenon' - report

Arsenal are considering a move for Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior.

The north London side are looking to recruit a marquee left winger despite recently signing Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge.

Vinicius has entered the final months of his contract, and Madrid are determined not to lose him for free. His contractual situation has alerted Mikel Arteta’s side.

However, journalist Jorge Picon claims the Brazilian attacker’s priority is to stay with Los Blancos.

He added that while Arsenal ‘have privately confirmed their interest in Vinicius’, they have not approached his representatives to explore a deal.

Vini, described as ‘a phenomenon‘ by French striker Karim Benzema, reportedly wants to become Madrid’s highest-paid player, but the Spanish giants are unwilling to meet his demands.

Arsenal’s search for a marquee left winger is becoming more difficult

Arsenal view the left wing as an area that needs strengthening this summer to improve Arteta’s attacking options.

The Gunners had previously made Morgan Rogers their priority target, but were reluctant to pay his asking price. Chelsea took advantage and secured his signature.

Arsenal have also contacted the representatives of RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, but the Ivorian forward is on the verge of joining Real Madrid.

Bradley Barcola is out of reach as well, with the France international prioritising a move to Liverpool. It is also believed that Arsenal are not ready to meet PSG’s valuation.

With several of their preferred targets proving difficult to sign, the north London club are running out of options on the left flank.

Arsenal may need to change their approach if they still intend to sign a marquee left-sided forward, considering the inflated nature of the transfer market.
