**[Mario Hezonja](https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hezonma01.html?utm_medium=linker&utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&utm_campaign=2026-07-26_bbr)** will sign a one-year, $2.8MM contract with the **Cavaliers**, agent **Michael Tellem** of Excel Sports Management tells ESPN’s Shams Charania ([Twitter link](https://x.com/ShamsCharania/status/2081427354673360946)).
The 31-year-old forward was viewed as a future star when the Magic selected him with the fifth pick in the 2015 draft. However, he never lived up to that promise and returned to the EuroLeague in 2020 after five seasons with Orlando, New York and Portland.
Since then, he has become one of the top players in the Europe, earning Spanish League MVP honors this season with Real Madrid while averaging 17.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 44 games.
