Reliever Wo-Suk Go, acquired from Detroit for cash considerations on July 6, has been suspended by 10 games by Major League Baseball after entering a game with a foreign substance on his glove while pitching for the Saints.
Go was coming out of the bullpen to make his first appearance in St. Paul when, after a routine glove check, third base umpire Joe McCarthy ejected the right-hander after conferring with the rest of his crew.
The glove was impounded and sent to MLB for inspection. The suspension, announced Sunday, is retroactive to Saturday.
Go, 27, made his major league debut for the Twins this month and gave up four runs on eight hits — two of them home runs — and two walks in four innings before being sent down to St. Paul. He signed a two-year, $4.5 million contract with San Diego in 2024 after seven seasons in the Korean Baseball Organization but is playing on a new, minor-league deal he signed with the Tigers for the 2025 season.
In 41⅓ innings in the Tigers’ system, Go had a 1.96 earned-run average in between Class AA Erie and AAA Toledo.
