The deed is done. According to a report from ESPN analyst and NBA insider Shams Charania, James has permanently inked his deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.
That didn't take long. News of James going to Philly broke on Friday, and now, just two days later, it's signed in stone.
Charania took to X on Sunday to share that "James has officially signed his two-year, $8 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers with a player option -- plus a full 15% trade kicker, per sources."

Followers were quick to react. "LeBron taking the min to chase a ring with Embiid. Philly about to be dangerous," one said. "If Embiid didn’t win with LeBron, we’re retiring every excuse permanently," one more added.
The news of James going to the Keystone State arrives after a handful of franchises were trying to get in on him. James was linked to the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat, among other teams.
James even said that he thought he would retire after the 2025-26 season with the Los Angeles Lakers. But he discovered that he still loves this sport with all of his 41-year-old heart.
"I thought I was done when the season ended. I wasn't ready to announce it, and I knew I needed some time to really decide, but I was pretty sure I played my last game," he said in a series of posts on X. "I was honest at that last press conference when I said I needed to look at myself and decide if I still love this game."
He added, "I still truly love this game, and I have more to give."
So, now, 76ers fans wait to see if James can lead them to the championship. October can't get here soon enough.
