Throughout the 2020s, Caldwell-Pope has built a reputation as one of the league's most reliable 3-and-D players. He played with LeBron on the Los Angeles Lakers' 2020 championship-winning team, and now, he is ready to be one of LeBron's spot-up shooters again in Philly.

Caldwell-Pope played three seasons with LeBron and the Lakers, which was one of the most successful parts of his career. He did end up winning another championship with the Denver Nuggets, which was yet another stint where he was a 3-and-D player.
He has bounced around the league multiple times since then, but he is still seen as a valuable piece for any team. KCP provides solid defense, reliable three-point shooting, and championship pedigree that only a few players can match.

For the past season, Caldwell-Pope was playing for the Memphis Grizzlies. While he was not the best replacement for Desmond Bane, KCP did play at a decent level. That 2025-26 performance showed that he still has it, which is good for a team that is looking for more reinforcements beyond their impressive starting lineup.
The Grizzlies have waived KCP, which means he is open to signing for any team not named the Grizzlies after he clears waivers. Now, everyone knows where he will end up because it has now been widely reported that he will join the 76ers.
Getting waived is often a sad day for most people, but it seems Caldwell-Pope and the people around him know what is going to happen. They don't have any problem, as there is a video circulating on social media of KCP and his friends dancing at a golf course.
