Stephen Curry admitted the Warriors' failed pursuit of LeBron James showed why nothing can be assumed until it happens, but he remains hopeful the front office will find creative ways to strengthen the roster despite injuries complicating its plans.

Golden State had reportedly spent much of the offseason searching for another star to pair with Curry and believed it had a legitimate opportunity to sign James.
Curry and Draymond Green were both involved in attempting to convince the four-time NBA champion to move to the Bay Area.
LeBron ultimately chose the Philadelphia 76ers, signing a two-year deal as he continues his pursuit of another championship.
"That's why you don't envision anything until it happens," Curry said, via Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic. "There's a lot of moving parts."
Curry remains hopeful for Warriors additions
Despite missing out on their leading star target, Curry remains open to any moves that could improve Golden State's chances next season.
"Sure," Curry said when asked whether he was hopeful the Warriors could still strengthen the roster. "I'm hopeful for all the creative ideas of getting the best team possible. We had those conversations."
With most of the biggest names already off the market, the Warriors may now have to focus on adding several complementary pieces rather than another established superstar.
Golden State has been linked with veteran free agent DeMar DeRozan, while the front office could also explore trades or lower-cost signings to provide Curry with additional scoring and depth.
The Warriors have several roster spots to fill but limited financial flexibility.

Injuries changed Warriors' plans
Curry acknowledged that injuries to some of Golden State's most important players have made the organization's offseason decisions more complicated.
"But when you have injuries at the top like that, it's always gonna change," Curry said.
Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody suffered significant knee injuries last season, creating uncertainty over when they will return and how effective they will be during the 2026-27 campaign.
"The through line, which is hard on anybody in this situation, especially with us keeping this thing together, is knowing that when Jimmy got hurt and Moses got hurt, the whole calculus of everything changes," Curry added.
"How do you get through their absence and still stay at a certain level? And then how that goes into this year. It's the same deal. So I'm a realist on that."

Warriors coming off disappointing season
Curry was limited to 43 appearances last season because of a troublesome right knee injury.
The 38-year-old still averaged 26.6 points, 4.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds while shooting 39.3% from three-point range, but Golden State struggled whenever he was unavailable.
The Warriors finished the regular season with a 37-45 record and placed 10th in the Western Conference.
They defeated the Los Angeles Clippers in their first Play-In game before losing 111-96 to the Phoenix Suns on April 17, ending their season without a playoff appearance.
After missing out on James, the Warriors must now find another way to maximize the closing stages of Curry's career.
