After what seemed like a slow start to the summer transfer window, Arsenal look to have put the wheels in motion on a number of blockbuster signings.

The Gunners kicked off their business with the permanent acquisition of Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen, following a sensational loan spell in 2025/26. It is understood that the north London outfit paid a fee of around £34.5million plus add-ons for the versatile centre-half's services.

Arsenal have also snapped up Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge in a £34m move, while also welcoming Illan Meslier from Leeds United on a free. However, it now seems as though the Premier League champions are in pursuit of marquee signings as they prepare for the new season.

Vinicius Jr has been a long-time target of Mikel Arteta's side, with links only strengthened as a result of a questionable future with Real Madrid. Now, The Telegraph claim that Arsenal are ready to make a 'significant financial commitment' to secure the Brazilian winger.

Their report states that they are willing to offer a club-record salary of £401,500 per week to lure him to English soil, which would also make Vini Jr the highest-paid player on Arsenal's team at present.

Whether they will meet Los Blancos' £137m asking price to allow the 26-year-old to leave, however, remains to be seen.

Elsewhere, Eddie Howe has admitted that he has no part in talks over Bruno Guimaraes, as Arsenal also target the Newcastle United skipper. Speaking at the weekend, the head coach explained: "I've spoken to him as I would do..

"Bruno, normally, is just a fantastic person. We've had some really good conversations, both before the World Cup, during the World Cup and after the World Cup. What we speak about obviously has to remain private.

"He's just a great player and a great person. Look, I don't know what's going to happen with Bruno's future. That's for other people to, one, speculate about, but also conversations that I'm not part of.

"We don't want to lose our best players. That's an obvious statement to make. Losing those big two [Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali] is painful for us and difficult. For me, it's been another challenging summer so far."

Stones option

While John Stones is being monitored by Juventus, Inter Milan and Chelsea, a move to the Emirates Stadium hasn't been completely ruled out - given the 32-year-old centre-half has left Manchester City as a free agent this summer.
