The return of Jurrien Timber is exciting news for the fans as Arsenal players and staff have reported for their pre-season officially. Some of the players are still spending holiday after featuring in the World Cup. The Gunners have received some major transfer boost ahead of their pre-season preparations. Arteta also met with his players specifically in a camp before starting his work.
Arsenal are relieved to have Jurrien Timber and others back
Arsenal have got triple injury boost before the onset of their pre-season of 2026-27 season. The Gunners defenders, Jurrien Timber and Ben White have rejoined the squad after recovering from their injury. Both football players have shared optimistic news about their physical condition.
As reported by ESPN, Dutch defender Jurrien Timber had suffered a groin injury in March, 2026. This unfortunate incident occurred in the match against Everton in Premier League. He was substituted in the 38th minute at Emirates in that game. Although Timber featured in the Champions League final against PSG for 54 minutes, his situation did not improve. He even missed the World Cup for this issue and underwent rehabilitation process in this summer. Now, he is working to get his fitness back on the training ground. Timber said, “Getting there slowly, trying hard, rehabbing during the summer, hopefully back soon.”
Right back Ben White has already joined the first team training at the Marbella camp before the pre-season friendlies. He has completely recovered from his medial ligament knee injury which he had suffered against West Ham in May, 2026 in the Premier League. He was asked to give current status of his fitness. The English defender said, “Knee’s all good, started training back with the team last week.”
As reported by Football London, William Saliba’s situation is a bit complicated. The Frenchman picked up a back injury against Spain in the World Cup semi final. The Gunners want to conduct medical tests and give their evaluation of him. The London side need the centre back as soon as possible as he is the main figure in their backline alongside Gabriel Magalhaes.
