Chelsea remain interested in signing Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott and are considering making a fresh proposal for the player, according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Scott enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 season as the Cherries finished in the Premier League's top six, scoring three goals in 37 appearances. This form has prompted significant interest from a host of clubs, including the aforementioned Chelsea, as well as the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United.
Bournemouth have reportedly placed a £100m price tag on the Englishman, deterring many of his potential suitors.
However, these demands haven't stopped Chelsea from commencing a pursuit. The Blues had a £64 million bid rejected for Scott, and they're now considering returning with an improved offer, as they look to test the south coast club's resolve.

Chelsea sold Andrey Santos to Manchester United earlier this summer, and are therefore looking to restock in the middle of the park. Beyond the starting midfield pair of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, senior options are somewhat thin in this department of Xabi Alonso's squad.
Scott has emerged as the primary target, although Bournemouth's staunch stance on not selling their best players for anything below astronomical fees this summer makes this potential deal difficult.
United had been in the mix for Scott, while the player himself was said to be keen on a switch to Arsenal, but interest from these two sides has cooled since learning of the Cherries' demands.
Chelsea haven't been put off quite yet. Sky Sports reporter Plettenberg insists that the Blues are weighing up a second bid for the 22-year-old.
It remains to be seen what the potential value of this new offer will be, although it's likely it won't come close to Bournemouth's valuation.
This could ultimately develop into a long-standing saga, with Chelsea hoping that the Europa League side will eventually fold.

While Chelsea don't need a huge squad next season as they won't be in any European competition, their midfield is seriously short on options. If Fernandez stays put, then he's expected to form a double pivot with Caicedo, with Reece James potentially being used in this position from time to time as well.
Behind them, the injury-prone Romeo Lavia and unproven youngster Dario Essugo are currently the depth pieces.
Clearly, an additional option is needed. Someone who can rotate in and out with Fernandez and Caicedo, and eventually play a more prominent role alongside them. Scott, described by Pep Guardiola as 'unbelievable', would arguably fill this role perfectly, although if the deal gets towards £100 million, the West London outfit should be wary.
