Vinicius Jr is reportedly ready to snub Arsenal in a move that could have a big knock-on effect for Liverpool.

Speculation has been building in recent days that the Brazilian star could be set for a sensational exit from Real Madrid amid an ongoing contract standoff. While the 26-year-old has reportedly been offered to Liverpool, it’s Arsenal that is being most strongly linked.

Recent reports have suggested that the defending Premier League champions are exploring the possibility of signing Vinicius, who has just 12 months remaining on his contract at the Bernabeu, with some even going as far as to claim that Arsenal would be willing to hand him a record contract in order to lure him to north London.

Yan Diomande’s expected move to Real could also prove to be a threat to Vinicius’ position, with the Spanish giant having seemingly won the race for the coveted 19-year-old.

According to Diario AS though, Vinicius is not keen to leave Real, and would prefer to extend his stay at the Bernabeu, with talks over a new contract expected to restart next week amid new optimism that a deal can be reached.

Should he stay put, that could have a big ripple effect on other potential transfers this summer, with Liverpool potentially feeling the impact.

Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.

The Reds are still searching for Mohamed Salah’s replacement on the right wing, and with Diomande set for the Bernabeu, an alternative option will have to be sought.

Bradley Barcola is the most prominent name being linked, and the 23-year-old may have just edged closer to the exit door at Paris Saint-Germain after deciding against signing a new contract with the European champions.

It’s still far from a done deal for Liverpool though, especially with PSG said to be demanding up to $193 million for his signature - and Arsenal might yet have a say in his future as well.

The Gunners have also been linked with Barcola this summer, although previous reports had suggested that they were prioritizing Morgan Rogers’ signing from Aston Villa above him. That deal is no longer possible though after the England international instead joined Chelsea.

And if Vinicius is no longer available either, that might lead Arsenal to fully turn its attention toward Barcola, which would add another major hurdle for Liverpool in what already looked to be a very tricky transfer.

The Reds are claimed to have already held preliminary talks over the winger, and may therefore hold an advantage, but with other areas of Andoni Iraola’s squad still to address, they will need to reach a conclusion on Barcola soon.
