Hello! As the 2026-27 NBA season approaches, Brew Hoop—the SB Nation community to discuss your Milwaukee Bucks—is looking to add to its staff. On a bittersweet note, we (Jack and Zac) have just taken the reins as co-managing editors from the terrific Van Fayaz, who has made the difficult decision to move on. Brew Hoop has not only said goodbye to Van, but also several other brilliant team members who have moved on to exciting new opportunities over the last year or so (sounds like the team we all follow, hey?). Therefore, much like the Bucks have done this summer, we are looking to replenish our roster with talented writers who want to cover the Bucks for a site with a proud history and passionate community.
Whether you’re an experienced writer or looking for your first opportunity in sports media, Brew Hoop offers a collaborative environment where you’ll receive feedback, develop your craft, and help shape one of the longest-running Bucks communities on the internet.
Roster needs (aka positions available)
We have several openings, ranging from paid staff positions with regular writing responsibilities to flexible contributor roles that let you write when your schedule allows. Intrigued? Read on.
Staff Writer
The staff writer is responsible for covering breaking news in a timely fashion, producing original and engaging feature articles, and contributing to weekly game coverage (previews, rapid recaps, and/or player grades). Depending on experience, there may also be opportunities to assist with editing and publishing articles.
Beat Writer
The beat writer is primarily responsible for game coverage (previews, rapid recaps, and/or player grades), including attending games at Fiserv Forum with media credentials. In addition to this, the beat writer will produce feature articles that cover the team from an insider perspective.
Contributors
Want to be a part of Brew Hoop but can’t commit to regular writing? A contributor role is perfect for you. These volunteer positions give you the opportunity to write for an established audience, build your portfolio (and get your byline out there!), and share your insights on all things Bucks. Contributors can assist with breaking news and game coverage, but also pitch ideas for (and author) original features.
