LeBron James has famously dawned the No. 23 jersey for most of his career, as he will continue to do in Philly. He started his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers with that number and wore it until choosing to play for the Miami Heat.
In South Beach, the legendary forward selected No. 6 for his jersey, which he wore for his whole tenure with the Heat.
His return to Cleveland also marked his return to No. 23. After he left for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018, LeBron carried his legendary number with him. However, after the Lakers acquired Anthony Davis, James meant to change his number to No. 6 to accommodate his new teammate, though it was delayed because of a surplus of already made LeBron jerseys.
