**Liverpool are not likely to land AS Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche’s signature this summer, with the 24-year-old leaning towards joining PSG instead.**
This summer has been one of confusion and uncertainty for Liverpool fans so far.
The arrival of Andoni Iraola from Bournemouth has certainly restored hope and excitement, but the lack of proactive transfers since signing Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz has seen Liverpool’s momentum stall.
A 4-2 win over Sunderland in the opening pre-season game of the season was very encouraging, but Liverpool will need more quality in depth to compete with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City next season.
While there is a whole host of positions in need of investment, Liverpool are particularly light in attack after not replacing Luis Diaz last summer and the departure of the great Mohamed Salah this summer.
Iraola’s style of play is particularly reliant on pacy, impactful wingers and the Reds are looking rather light in that department.
As things stand, these are Liverpool’s winger options:
* Rio Ngumoha (17)
* Victor Munoz (22)
* Cody Gakpo (27)
* Federico Chiesa (28)
They are looking very light in attacking depth and in the event of an injury to even one of these players, Liverpool will be in major danger.
Maghnes Akliouche will not be a summer arrival for Liverpool in the attacking department

According to a report from journalist Santi Aouna, Liverpool are not likely to be the club that signs Akliouche, with PSG favourites to sign the AS Monaco star.
He reports on [X](https://x.com/Santi_J_FM/status/2081485106926285171?s=20): _“Despite Liverpool’s interest, Maghnes Akliouche wants to join PSG._
_“The Reds are ready to offer AS Monaco more than PSG, but the player’s desire is clear: he only wants Paris._
_“Discussions continue between the two clubs.”_

Akliouche would have been a great option but Liverpool must look elsewhere
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s well-known by now that Liverpool are hell-bent on signing Bradley Barcola, but they need to sign two wingers this summer if they are to have the strength in numbers to compete in all four competitions.
Akliouche, who scored 7 goals and assisted 11 last season, would have been a great option but they will now need to look further down their shortlist.
Iraola’s style of play relies on everyone pitching in with goals, so it’s fine if Liverpool sign one elite winger and one more promising player with the likes of [Yankuba Minteh](https://live4liverpool.com/liverpool-chances-of-signing-said-el-mala-diminish-after-fresh-report/) linked with the Reds.
