Chelsea's long-standing policy of investing in elite young talent could soon take them to Paris, with the Blues among the clubs keeping a close eye on one of French football's brightest emerging stars.

Still only 18, the PSG academy graduate has already broken into one of the strongest squads on the continent, earning regular opportunities under Luis Enrique despite fierce competition from established international stars.
His rapid development has convinced many that he has the potential to become PSG's next homegrown superstar.
Mbaye made 31 appearances across all competitions last term, scoring three goals while continuing to earn Enrique's trust in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
Although many of his appearances came from the bench, his willingness to attack defenders, explosive pace and confidence in one-v-ones repeatedly caught the eye.

After switching his allegiance from France's youth teams to Senegal, Mbaye quickly established himself in Pape Thiaw's senior squad. The Senegal head coach has publicly described the teenager as a "phenomenon", praising both his mentality and enormous potential after handing him his international debut.
Mbaye has since become one of the country's most exciting young prospects, breaking Senegal's record as the youngest player to appear at the Africa Cup of Nations before continuing his development.

Despite his obvious promise, speculation over his future has continued throughout the summer.
Interest from the Premier League has intensified as clubs assess whether there is any realistic opportunity to tempt him away from Paris.

According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Chelsea are among those exploring exactly that possibility.
Hawkins reports that Chelsea have made an enquiry over Mbaye's availability as they continue searching for the next generation of elite attacking talent.
However, PSG are in no rush to sell and value the teenager at around £43 million.
Mbaye remains under contract until 2028, leaving the French champions in a strong negotiating position. Unless a club is prepared to meet their asking price, PSG are expected to continue building around the youngster as part of Enrique's long-term project.
Chelsea, though, have shown repeatedly that they are prepared to invest heavily in exceptional young players.
Their enquiry suggests Mbaye is another name they believe could develop into a world-class attacker, even if convincing PSG to sell this summer appears likely to prove extremely difficult.
