Chelsea have reportedly had a bid worth £64m for Alex Scott rejected by Bournemouth, with Liverpool quickly losing ground on one of their targets.
The Blues look to be the favourites to sign Scott this summer, but Liverpool were linked to the midfielder as well, although it has gone very quiet recently.
Now, reporting for Sky Germany on X, Florian Plettenberg says that Chelsea are not the only club looking at the Cherries star, although it will cost more than the £64m bid Chelsea already had rejected.
Plettenberg said: “Understand Chelsea remain very interested in Alex Scott and are considering submitting a new bid. Chelsea’s opening offer of £64 million was rejected by Bournemouth, who are determined to keep the 22 y/o midfielder.Confirmed.
“More teams keen on him. Not only Chelsea. Pep Guardiola once called him an “unbelievable player”. Thomas Tuchel appreciates him a lot.”

Liverpool could return with another bid but nothing concrete yet
Liverpool remain linked with Scott, but it would appear that they are being priced out of a move to sign the English midfielder.
It’s no secret that Scott was one of Iraola’s favourite players during his time on the south coast with Bournemouth.
When Scott received his first England call-up in 2025, Iraola was one of the first to say how happy he was about it.
“I am very happy for him and happy for the club,” Iraola said. “I am pleased for him. I think he has been playing very well, and also, I suppose the good performance with the under-21s in the summer has also been very valuable.
“I am very happy for him and happy for the club because in an English club, to have someone representing your country, I think, is good. Especially for him, but also for the club.
“Alex is very smart, and he knows a lot of the teammates from the young [England] teams. For sure, he has to use this chance to learn everything he can, keep fighting, and keep being very humble, so it’s not just once, and he has more chances to establish himself for more opportunities.”
With how much work Liverpool need to do this summer, £64m for Scott is already too much for the Reds, so to learn it will cost even more makes it almost certain that Liverpool will not enter the market for the 22-year-old.
