Having progressed in talks at the end of last week, Leeds have now reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign the 23-year-old.
Various reports claim that United are set to confirm a £40million deal with add-ons on top of that. It would see Trafford become Leeds’ club-record transfer as a result.
On top of this, Florian Plettenberg reports that United have already pencilled in a medical for Trafford to complete this week.
It comes as Trafford pursues an exit in order to guarantee playing time away from Man City. Of course, Trafford was blind-sided at the Etihad when his arrival was quickly undermined by Gigi Donnarumma joining later in the same window.

Now, The Daily Mail’s Simon Jones reports that a deal is worth £40million with a further £5million in add-ons. Importantly, he notes that City have included a sell-on clause in the contract for any future sale of Trafford by Leeds.
It remains to be seen for certain whether the Etihad club have included any buyback or release clauses for Trafford. TalkSPORT previously reported that there could be a release clause included, potentially allowing Trafford another move to an elite club, provided that Leeds’ pockets are sufficiently lined first.
Graham Smyth notes that he’d be surprised to see Leeds get away with no release clause included. However, any such inclusion would only serve to benefit the Whites via a mammoth sale.
