Liverpool preparing offer for Juventus star

Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola is keen to bolster his squad ahead of the new season.

Liverpool have had a relatively quiet summer transfer window so far, with Andoni Iraola replacing Arne Slot as head coach and Victor Munoz the only first-team signing.

Jeremy Jacquet has also arrived after completing a deal agreed in January. However, with Mohamed Salah leaving on a free transfer at the end of last season, attacking reinforcements remain a priority ahead of the new campaign.

The Reds have identified Juventus winger Francisco Conceicao as a potential target. The 23-year-old has impressed in Italy so far. Last season, he racked up 31 league appearances, scored three times and provided five assists for Juventus.

Conceicao also caught the eye for Portugal, making four appearances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup despite their disappointing tournament under Roberto Martinez.

According to Tuttosport, Liverpool are preparing a formal bid for Conceicao as they look to strengthen their attacking options. The Reds are willing to offer €50million (£43million) for Conceicao, with Juventus’ financial situation potentially forcing them to consider player sales.

Conceicao is not the only winger on Liverpool’s radar, with Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola remaining their top target.

PSG are reportedly demanding €170million (£145million) for the France international, although Barcola is said to be open to a move in search of more regular first-team football.

Liverpool’s squad remains short of attacking depth, and Iraola has made it clear he wants further additions. “I think it is difficult to say a number,” the former Bournemouth boss said.

“When the market is open, you have to be always open to new options to improve the squad. There are obvious situations where we need to sign players.

“Winger for example, we definitely need to sign a winger, but there are other situations where we will have to analyze what the market gives you, what is the cost, how we also see the players we have.

“We have some tricky positions where we have injured players that we trust, but it is still not the ideal situation, so it will depend on a lot of things.”

Victor Munoz, Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha are currently the club’s main winger options, while Hugo Ekitike’s long-term absence following an Achilles injury has increased the need for reinforcements.

At around £43million, Conceicao could represent a more affordable option for Liverpool as they look to rebuild their attack following Salah’s departure.
