Bradley Barcola looks to be Liverpool's top target now, but with PSG demanding a huge fee, the winger could find himself in a difficult position after choosing not to sign a new contract

Bradley Barcola could end up being banished from Paris Saint-Germain’s team if he doesn’t land a move to Liverpool this summer.
The Reds’ search for Mohamed Salah’s replacement looks to have led them to Barcola after previous attempts to lure primary target Yan Diomande failed. With alternative options now being sought, the PSG star is the most prominent name being linked.
And the 23-year-old looks to have opened the door to a transfer, having decided against signing a new contract with his current side. Landing his signature is going to prove tricky though, for Liverpool or any other club interested.
PSG is reported to have placed a value of around $193 million (€170M) on Barcola, which would mean the Reds would have to break the Premier League transfer record for the third time in 12 months after signing Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak last summer.
Although Barcola seemingly wants a move, PSG feels justified in its massive valuation due to him still having two years remaining on his contract, while also using Morgan Rogers’ move to Chelsea for $156M (£117M) and Elliot Anderson’s switch to Manchester City for $154M (£116M) as a guideline.
Barcola’s age, and his status as a back-to-back European champion and regular for France also contribute to the huge asking price. Should Liverpool or anyone else be unable to raise the funds to secure his signature, the winger could find himself out in the cold in Paris.

According to The Athletic, PSG boss Luis Enrique only wants committed players in his side. Therefore, if Barcola doesn’t get a move this summer, he could end up not featuring next season, having already made his intentions clear.
Barcola is confirmed to be a top target for Liverpool, with Andoni Iraola having made it clear that a new right winger is a priority for the club. The Reds have other areas in the squad that need addressing though, with Joe Gomez’s injury underlining the need for more options in defense.
PSG’s valuation then puts Liverpool in a tricky position. Reports have indicated that the club will try to reach a compromise, although it might not be helped by Arsenal potentially being in the running as well.

Reports in Spain though have suggested that the Brazilian star will snub Arsenal in favor of signing a new contract at the Bernabeu, which may lead to Mikel Arteta’s side turning its attention back to Barcola.

Liverpool.com says: The pressure is on Liverpool now to find a way of making this move happen for Barcola. Even if it manages to bring that asking price down, it's still going to have to break the bank, and likely break its own transfer record again.
The Reds need to come to a decision quickly on this one. It's already clear that they need more than just a new winger, and they aren't leaving themselves too much time to get what could be a lot business done.
