Arsenal## Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. continues to be linked with a blockbuster move to Arsenal during the summer transfer window
11:14, 28 Jul 2026
Arsenal are reportedly aware that it will not be easy to complete the signing of Vinicius Jr. from Real Madrid this summer.
The Gunners are interested in signing the Brazil international as they prepare for their Premier League title defence.
Vinicius' future at the Santiago Bernabeu has been the subject of speculation for several months, given his contract with the La Liga giants is set to expire at the end of next season.
Arsenal have placed the 26-year-old on their shortlist of forward options this summer, particularly as they deal with having to search for alternatives to Morgan Rogers, who joined Chelsea in a £117million deal last week.
A report in The Athletic has provided a fresh update on Arsenal’s quest to sign Vinicius, which will be led by sporting director Andrea Berta.
The report claims that Arsenal acknowledge that it will be tough to complete a deal for Vinicius, but it has been stated that the Gunners are willing to “go for it” to try and bring the Brazilian to north London.
It has also been stated that a move for the Real star has been approved at all levels within Arsenal, and it now remains to be seen if an agreement can be reached with the La Liga giants.
Real and Vinicius are reported to have been holding talks over a potential contract extension for some time.
However, as things stand, no agreement has been reached, which has led to interest from Arsenal in a possible transfer.

Vinicius scored 22 goals for Real last season across all competitions as they finished second in La Liga, behind bitter rivals Barcelona, and reached the quarter-final of the Champions League.

There have been reports that Real would demand around £137million (€160m) to part ways with Vinicius this summer, despite the forward having 12 months remaining on his contract in the Spanish capital.
It has also been suggested that Vinicius himself would demand an annual salary of £17.1million (€20million), which would be worth around £328,000 per week.
