Fenerbahce have reportedly “asked” about Cody Gakpo in recent days according to reports from Turkey this week.

Cody Gakpo’s Anfield future has become one of the summer’s more intriguing subplots, with Tottenham Hotspur firmly keeping tabs on the Dutchman as Liverpool weigh up their attacking reshuffle.
talkSPORT’s Alex Crook confirmed Spurs have the 27-year-old on their radar, though Liverpool “do not plan to sell” him this summer.

Complicating matters further is Bradley Barcola’s stalled situation at PSG.
According to French outlet Onze Mondial, the winger has told PSG he won’t sign a new deal and has identified Liverpool as his preferred next club, but the Reds may need to move a forward on before that deal can progress.
The report was blunt about the mechanics involved: “At Liverpool, for example, a transfer of Cody Gakpo to Tottenham could change the game”.
Gakpo, contracted until 2030, is still on an extended break after Netherlands’ World Cup campaign.
Into that mix has now stepped Fenerbahce. Turkish outlet Fanatik, via reporter Samet Çayır, revealed the Süper Lig giants made contact with Liverpool to establish Gakpo’s situation and held an initial conversation with the player himself over a possible move to Istanbul.
Fenerbahce have already been busy in the market this summer, bringing in Mason Greenwood and Nathan Aké among others, and are reportedly keen to add another proven attacking option.
The response from Gakpo’s camp, though, wasn’t the green light Fenerbahce were hoping for.
According to Fanatik, the Dutchman made clear during the meeting that, should he leave Liverpool, his priority is to continue his career in one of Europe’s top five leagues — England, Spain, Germany, Italy or France.
That effectively rules out a switch to Turkey for now, with Fenerbahce reportedly not treating the answer as a definitive door-slam, choosing instead to keep tracking his situation should terms change later in the window.
For Liverpool, the message remains consistent. Gakpo isn’t being pushed out, and any departure – whether to Tottenham or elsewhere – would need a substantial offer to force Anfield’s hand
