Ex-Newcastle manager Alan Pardew believes his former club have accepted that their captain Bruno Guimaraes will leave for Arsenal this summer.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Pardew said that the Magpies are resigned to selling their talisman, and they are now simply holding out for the highest fee possible:
“It will be a massive loss for them. I think his love has gone. I can’t see him staying there and being the same player, so I think it’s going to be a question of as much money as possible. I think that’s where the Newcastle board will sit.”

No direct talks have taken place between the two teams, which seems somewhat bizarre, but it is believed that intermediaries have been used, with Kia Joorabchian said to be at the centre of things.
The “superagent” is believed to have been drafted in by Guimaraes to help secure him a move to the Emirates.
Subsequently, three verbal offers have reportedly been made for the Brazilian international by the Gunners through Joorabchian, with the latest worth £70m.

How much do Newcastle want for Guimaraes?
Some have suggested that the Magpies’ asking price is as high as £100m, but there is a feeling that an agreement could be reached for a fee between £80m and £85m.
It is important to note that Guimaraes is not prepared to go to the same lengths as Alexander Isak to force a departure from St James’ Park, but as Pardew points out, it is very clear that he’s desperate to join the Premier League champions this summer.
