One of the most interesting situations regarding the Arsenal academy this summer focuses on the future of Ismeal Kabia.
Now one of the oldest players in the academy setup at the age of 20, Kabia is back at Arsenal having made a significant impact while on loan at Shrewsbury Town last season.
Usually deployed as a winger on the right flank, Kabia is quick, direct and capable of delivering dangerous crosses with regularity. While at Shrewsbury he also developed his defensive attributes, which included some games playing at right-back.
Kabia also has a competitive senior appearance for Arsenal to his name having featured against Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup in 2024.
It remains to be seen where Kabia will be playing when the season gets underway although it seems clear that he is now above U21s football.
Kabia has travelled with the Arsenal first-team squad for their training camp in Spain and will be eager to make an impact in the friendly against Girona on Saturday.
Despite the ability he possesses, breaking into the first-team squad at Arsenal will be a considerably difficult task.
However, Kabia will be determined to show what he is capable of and will then await a decision on whether he will remain at Arsenal, be loaned out again or potentially depart permanently.
