Hannah Hampton Signs a New Contract with Chelsea Women

England No.1 Hannah Hampton has committed her future to Chelsea Women by signing a new two-year contract with the club.
Since signing for the Blues from Aston Villa three years ago, Hampton has won five trophies with Chelsea, starred for England as the Lionesses retained their European title and was awarded the Yashin Trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in 2025, recognising her as the best goalkeeper in the world over the previous year.
Hampton said: ‘I’m really happy. Chelsea have always been my dream club to play for in England so to be able to extend for another two years is a proud moment.
‘When I moved to London from the Midlands, it was my first time moving away from home and everyone at Chelsea made it feel like a home away from home and somewhere I have been able to grow not only as a player but as a person.
‘I don’t want that journey to stop and I want to continue to grow more and learn more as a person.
‘I am happy and I know there is so much more I can achieve and so much more as a team we can achieve. I am going to do everything I can to help Chelsea get back to being as successful as we have been in the past.’

When Hannah Hampton signed her new contract at our Cobham training ground, she received a very special visitor after young fan Emme and her family were invited along to meet our goalkeeper.
Emme suffers from a condition called Usher Syndrome, which affects both hearing and vision and can lead to permanent sight loss. She is described as a ‘football-loving, funny, kind-hearted girl’.
Hampton, who also suffers from a sight condition called strabismus, which affects her depth perception, has overcome all the odds to become England’s number one goalkeeper, making her a role model for those with similar difficulties. Last year, the 25-year-old was given a ‘Love Your Eyes Special Recognition Award’ by HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh.
When Emme’s parents Beth and Dave learned of her potential loss of vision, they decided to create a ‘sight bucket list’ for their daughter, made up of dreams she wishes to experience while it is still possible. On that list was a meeting with Hampton.
Head coach Sonia Bompastor also dropped in to say hello to Emme, while the youngster was also invited to become Hannah’s mascot at one of our home matches at Stamford Bridge this season, completing this once-in-a-lifetime day for the youngster.
