Landon Emenalo, the son of retired Nigeria international left-back Michael Emenalo, was among three Super Eagles-eligible defenders who started for Chelsea in their entertaining 6-4 victory over Western Sydney Wanderers on Tuesday.
Manager Xabi Alonso named Emenalo in the starting lineup, where he was joined by captain Tosin Adarabioyo and Olutayo Subuloye.
Landon was selected for Chelsea's tour squad after impressing the Spanish tactician during the opening weeks of pre-season training at the Cobham Training Centre.
The first half ended 2-2, with Dastan Satpayev and Dario Essugo scoring for the Premier League side, while Pantazopoulos and Hammond found the net for the Australians.
Ten minutes into the second half, Emenalo missed a chance to give the Blues the lead when he fired over the bar after receiving a pass from Reggie Watson.
Moments later, Emenalo's attempted clearance took a deflection, allowing Scicluna to capitalize and drill the ball beyond Teddy Sharman-Lowe to give the Wanderers a 3-2 lead in the 62nd minute.
However, Jamie Gittens restored parity four minutes later.
Awan Lual scored Western Sydney Wanderers' fourth goal in the 78th minute, but a nine-minute hat-trick from João Pedro ensured Chelsea emerged 6-4 winners.
Chelsea will next face Tottenham Hotspur at Accor Stadium on Saturday in another pre-season fixture.
