Mohamed Salah has been handed a 'take-it-or-leave-it' offer to join Besiktas, with the Turkish club refusing to wait any longer for the Liverpool legend.
Salah is still looking for his next club after bringing his nine-year spell at Anfield to an end this summer. He has been touted for a move to Saudi Arabia for the last few years, while the MLS is also claimed to be an option, with Sporting Kansas City having emerged as a surprise contender for his signature.
Speculation has grown in recent days though suggesting that a move to Turkiye is in the offing, with the 34-year-old said to have agreed personal terms with Besiktas — although a transfer might not be as close as it has been reported.
Besiktas sporting director Onder Ozent has now confirmed that the club has made an offer to Salah, although it hasn’t yet been accepted, with the process not going as smoothly as some reports have made out.
The Turkish club appears to be growing impatient with the winger and his agent, with Ozent insisting that Besiktas will not make another offer if Salah doesn’t accept the terms that have been handed to him.
"Besiktas' offer, made on its own terms, is on the table," Ozent told a news conference (as per Fanatik). "If a response to this offer comes, it can be evaluated. But Besiktas will not make another offer.

"They've said they're in talks with another club as well; perhaps they'll reach an agreement there. Our final offer to Salah is the last word — one that doesn't compromise Besiktas' club identity."
Ozent’s comments come after Besiktas president Serdal Adali suggested that Salah had given the green light to the transfer, but the winger’s outspoken agent, Ramy Abbas, has been blamed for the delay after raising financial demands to “unbelievable figures”.
Adali’s claims look to have been corroborated by Ozent, who has indicated that talks began to slow down once financial discussions began.
"We met with Salah three times without delving into the financial aspects of the negotiations," Ozent said. "Everything was going smoothly up to that point. Once the financial discussions began, the smooth progress seen on the first day started to slow down as of July 21.

"The club has a policy, and it cannot deviate from that policy. Our president identified the line he would not cross very clearly and stood his ground. Management is a legal business; there is a legally established commission rate, and exceeding that would constitute an illegal situation.
"When it comes to Beşiktaş, avoiding such a situation is a requirement of being a Besiktas supporter. The president, by not making a populist decision, has 'stepped away from the table for now.'"
