Liverpool icon Glenn Hysen has revealed he is battling Parkinson's disease. At the age of only 66 years old, the Swedish ex-football star opened up about the tragic news he has received.
Over the course of three years at Anfield between 1989 and 1992, he made 72 league appearances for the Reds. In the 1989-90 campaign, he helped Liverpool win the Football League First Division title, which was the last league triumph in the Reds' history until Jurgen Klopp broke the duck in the 2019-20 Premier League campaign.
However, things are about to become difficult for the former central defender, as he received the news about his Parkinson's disease.

Speaking to Swedish outlet Hant, he revealed his diagnosis, albeit it's a thankfully mild form of the disease. He said: "I take medication 3-4 times a day with tablets. It's not dangerous, but you have to treat it."
Hysen also stated his body is not expected to deteriorate too significantly as a result of the disease because his version can be treated by medication.
While the news is obviously not good, particularly for his wife Camilla Lendot and his two children Tobias Hysen and Anton Hysen, he is trying to keep his own spirits high.

He added: "I’m not the kind of person who digs deep into things. I have no problem with it, it’s not a big deal. I could probably work in a bar now and shake a drink.
"There are certain situations where you get a little nervous. If there are a lot of people around, I shake a little, but otherwise it’s calm.”
