Liverpool have been offered a hint that they may need to bide their time and wait for a deal for Bradley Barcola to be completed. The Anfield outfit have been heavily linked with a move for the Paris Saint-Germain star, as they look to strengthen their wide forward options.
Mohamed Salah’s departure as a free agent, combined with the Achilles injury to Hugo Ekitike, means that Liverpool have been tipped to go into the market for reinforcements to their forward line.
Victor Munoz remains the only new addition to the Liverpool squad this summer after the Spain international arrived in a £34.5million deal from Osasuna.
A report from L'Equipe has claimed that Liverpool and PSG are presently in talks over a possible deal for Barcola, but notes that there remains a significant gap in valuation between the two sides.
The report suggests that Liverpool and PSG are prepared to remain patient regarding negotiations over a potential fee for Barcola, hinting that the transfer saga could continue throughout the remainder of the summer window.
Separate reports have indicated that PSG value Barcola at approximately €170million (£145million), especially following Morgan Rogers' move to Chelsea in a £117million deal from Aston Villa.
Sandro Tonali and Elliot Anderson also sealed transfers for fees of at least £100million this summer.
The update follows reports which emerged over the weekend which claimed that Barcola had decided against signing a new contract with PSG, suggesting that a permanent move away from the Parc des Princes may be on the cards.

The Athletic have also reported that PSG manager Luis Enrique only wants "committed" players in his squad next season, with indications that anyone reluctant to remain at the club may not get any minutes.
Consequently, this could suggest a possible repeat of events that unfolded before Alexander Isak joined Liverpool last summer.
Liverpool ultimately struck a £125million agreement with Newcastle on deadline day, though only after several weeks of uncertainty that meant Isak didn't feature in any pre-season or Premier League fixtures for the Magpies ahead of his exit. The striker wasn't match-fit to begin following the transfer.
Isak went on to feature just 22 times for Liverpool in his first campaign for the club, and didn't make his first start for the club until September 17 against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
