Arsenal Chelsea
Adam Guram’s agent, Vadim Shablii, has hinted that Chelsea may hold a slight advantage over Arsenal in the potential race for the youngster.
Flashscore.de have an extensive interview with the agent today, as the Hajduk Split youngster finds himself in Arsenal and Chelsea’s sights.
Arsenal and Chelsea interest
The 17-year-old has found himself being linked with the Premier League duo as he continues to impress for the Croatian side.
He is a product of Shakhtar Donetsk’s academy but joined Hajduk on a free transfer. He moved into their U17 side in 2024 before then joining the first tea in 2026. He’s since made 10 appearances in the first team. That’s put him on the radar of Arsenal and Chelsea in the process.
His agent knows all about that and is well accustomed to dealing with Premier League clubs too. In fact, their top two clients. Yegor Yarmolyuk and Vitaliy Mykolenko, currently play for Brentford and Everton respectively. He believes Guram is ready for a step up if it is offered this summer.
“First and foremost, these clubs recognise his enormous potential,” he said.
“Although Adam is still very young, he already possesses an exceptional understanding of the game, outstanding technique, and – above all – the right professional attitude. He has an unwavering drive to learn and develop further every single day.
“Of course, he is only at the beginning of his journey and still has a lot to learn. The crucial thing now is not to rush things but to advance his development step by step.”
Wary of wrong move
He, though, insists that they would sit down and analyse in detail whether such a move would be the right one for the youngster.
“An early transfer of this magnitude is a huge step. It opens doors, but it inevitably brings pressure with it,” he added.
“For us, therefore, it is by no means just about choosing the most famous club. We have to analyse precisely whether such a move is the right step for Adam at this particular time.
“Factors such as the prospect of playing time, the coaching staff, and the club’s individual development philosophy play a much larger role than just the club’s name. However, the fact that Adam made his debut for Hajduk Split’s first team at just 17 years old underscores his mental readiness for this level.”
Chelsea contract attraction
He was then asked about Chelsea’s policy of handing long contracts to their new signings. They have sometimes been seven or eight years long. That can be attractive to a 17-year-old seeking security.
And he admits that sort of policy could give the Blues a slight advantage over Arsenal. But it isn’t something they put at the top of their list.
“A long-term contract with a top club undoubtedly holds appeal,” he concluded.
“It signals a high level of appreciation to the player. And it demonstrates the club’s willingness to invest in their long-term development.
“However, the length of the contract should never be the primary deciding factor. Far more important are the sporting role the club envisions for the player, the development plan, and the realistic prospect of playing time.”
