There is finally some talk about where Benoit Badiahshile might play next season, with a Serie A loan on the cards.

While the focus was on Chelsea’s friendly against Western Sydney Wanderers today, there was also a rumour emerging about Benoit Badiashile.
The central defender is up for sale, and we finally have some talk about where he might go. FootMercato are claiming that Napoli are trying to loan him for the season, with an optional purchase clause included.
Chelsea would of course rather sell him permanently – and have put a €30m price tag on him. But as with Alejandro Garnacho and countless players before, saying you’ll only sell and won’t consider a loan is all very well until the deadline closes in and you’re forced to reconsider.

Whether this materialises into anything or not, we’re just relieved to have some rumours of any description about Badiashile. He’s quite clearly been up for sale for a year now, and yet we’ve heard only faint whispers in that time.
This is by far the most convincing story so far, and hopefully even if it doesn’t lead to anything, it does mean the wheels are finally in motion to move him on.

Xabi Alonso has refused to confirm what plans are for young striker Dastan Saypayev after an impressive performance in Chelsea’s friendly today.
The manager was happy overall – but wasn’t afraid to call out one area his team had struggled in as they looked to get to grips with their enthusiastic opposition.
