Liverpool FC## Liverpool remains in talks to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, but former player Steve Nicol has some doubts over the transfer.

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has claimed that Bradley Barcola is an "exciting player", but retains reservations over the potential asking price of Paris Saint-Germain in discussions for a transfer.
It comes as the 23-year-old has emerged as the top priority target for the Reds in the past week, following reports that the France international had turned down the chance to sign a new contract at Parc des Princes in favor of a move elsewhere.
With Andoni Iraola pleading for Liverpool to sign a new winger, Barcola has been heavily linked due to both his current quality and his potential to grow further in the future.
A deal appears complicated, even though there are claims that the player's terms will be no issue, with PSG's demands likely to maximize the star's value before he enters the final year of his deal.
There had been some suggestions that the European champions value Barcola at close to $200 million, the type of fee that would almost certainly put him out of reach for Liverpool.
That said, if negotiations can bring the price down, then things could change, but it remains a clear sticking point for former Reds star Nicol.
Speaking to ESPN about the possibility of Liverpool signing Barcola, the 64-year-old claimed: "I am glad Liverpool has interest in Barcola. There is no doubt that he is an exciting player. He would certainly fit into Iraola’s team.
"The problem is PSG is looking for $193M (£145m). He is a really good player, but he hasn’t done enough to be touted for that price.
"Let’s take the facts - he hasn’t been a regular starter for PSG. It is a fantastic team, but he has generally been coming off the bench. If Liverpool can sign Barcola, he is only going to get better, but not for me at that price."

It remains to be seen exactly how much Barcola's transfer value could reach for an agreement to be struck this summer, with negotiations likely to kickstart in the coming days.
It's a move that may depend on timing, with PSG in talks to sign other wingers in the market that could then allow the Frenchman to leave.

Les Parisiens recently announced their withdrawal from the race to sign Yan Diomande, who was also a target for Liverpool earlier this summer, while Maghnes Akliouche of AS Monaco remains a clear target for the side.
That could give an opening for the Reds to strike, but ultimately the finances will dictate whether the club can proceed with a deal or not.
It's a game of transfer poker that will ultimately see whether Liverpool sticks or twists on its top target in the coming days and weeks.
